Taygan, or just plain Tay, is a professional photographer who sometimes likes to get in front of the camera. She comes from a very artistic family, and is adorned with body art. We arranged for a shoot one Sunday at the fortifications at Middle Head, on a day that had rain from drizzle to heavy downpours. But we managed to complete the shoot.
Tay had a number of outfits and her look changed from what I call urban grunge to romantic and sensual. In most cases two off camera flashes in umbrellas were used. Sometimes a third was used as rim light or was gelled to colour or add texture to a back wall.
As I have been doing with other shoots lately I have been cropping images to obtain a headshot. These headshots are always in landscape mode and I attempt to get the dominant eye at the intersecting lines in a "rule of thirds".
